This page is a quick reference for The Haven of RCS's domestic violence shelter. Please see the Hotline page or Shelter main page for more detailed information.

Duration: The shelter is a 45 day emergency care facility but clients are free to leave at any time during that period or may petition to remain longer if needed

.
Capacity: There are currently 36 beds for women and children. A new shelter was recently built increasing bed space from 20 to it's current number.

Access: Participants come to the shelter via our 24 Hour hotline, our outreach efforts, other domestic violence shelters or other referring agencies.

The Stay: While at the shelter, participants are given access to a variety of counseling and mental health services, child development assistance, food & clothing, resource referral and a variety of other programs designed to empower the client and assist them on the path to self-sufficiency if that is what they choose.

Departing: Upon leaving the shelter clients are encouraged to choose the path best suited for them as no one knows their situation and circumstances better than the individual client. As an option a transitional living program coordinated by Haven staff is available. Participants may also be referred to the Outreach program for additional services and ongoing support.

Follow Up:  Participants are contacted when possible and sent optional requests for information to ascertain the need for additional services and as an evaluation tool to help determine program effectiveness.
